At Astron, you’ll join our Control Systems team and work alongside experienced developers and testers on software solutions where reliability and a deep understanding of how systems work really matter.
You don’t need to know everything from day one. We’re looking for someone with solid technical foundations, a problem-solving mindset and the curiosity to understand what’s happening behind the code.
What you’ll be doing
• Diverse development tasks:
◦ Development of training simulators under Windows/Linux operating systems
◦ Development of desktop and server applications for electric power systems and railway control systems in Unix/Linux environments
• Participation in all phases of the software development process (design, implementation, testing)
• Adapting to highly reliable development procedures
• Cooperation with international partners
What we’re looking for
• 1–4 years of experience in software development or a similar technical role
• Working proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• Basic knowledge of Linux and SQL
• Experience with PostgreSQL is an advantage, but experience with other database engines is also welcome
• Shell scripting skills
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and/or SVN
• Ability and willingness to understand existing code, investigate problems and find their root causes
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
